Аннотация:Family businesses have an important socioeconomic significance for the development of agricultural companies. In a number of families, there is successful interaction between their members, while other family businesses fail due to the reluctance of the next generation to join them. The aim of this article is to examine some elements of the construction of the intra-family business environment. The main tasks are: (1) to examine the family constitution as a tool for establishing intergenerational relationships; (2) to present examples of family businesses from Bulgaria, Iran and Russia; (3) to present an international comparison based on data from the international academic network INTERGEN, collected in the period of 2021-2024, with respect to the intentions of students from those three countries to interact with their relatives. The number of respondents is 1949, which were approached during classes or by Messenger. Our assumption is that students would be interested in the family constitution if they are willing to establish business relationships with their relatives. A key finding is that the family constitution might also be a proper preliminary test about the real intentions of the family members, and it may settle their sustainable business relations in advance. The results from this article could be used for further academic research about sustainable management of intergenerational family businesses.
