[1] Spectroscopic confirmation of pnv j00431504+4120506 as a classical nova / E. A. Barsukova, A. F. Valeev, V. P. Goranskij et al. // The Astronomer’s Telegram. — 2017. — no. 10596. — P. 1–1. We report optical spectroscopy of the M31 nova candidate PNV J00431504+4120506 (AT2017fog, ATel #10588). The data were obtained on 2017 July 22.013 UT using the Russian BTA telescope equipped with the SCORPIO spectrograph. The total exposure was 1.5 ks. The spectra were taken with a spectral resolution of 4.7 Å in the spectral range of 4046 - 5841 Å and with the signal to noise ratio of 40. Photometry of the object was obtained before and immediately after the spectroscopy. The values of B = 16.70 ± 0.05, V = 16.57 ± 0.05, Rc = 16.46 ± 0.05. The spectrum has a blue continuum of a hot star. Hβ and Hγ lines have P Cyg profiles along with the following Fe II lines: 4128, 4179, 4233, 4303, 4924, 5018, 5169, 5198, 5235, 5276, 5317 Å. The heliocentric radial velocity of emission components of the P Cyg profiles equals to -200 km/s. The absorption minima are shifted from these emission maxima by 650 km/s to the blue side, while absorptions spread of 1000 km/s. We classified this nova as a Fe II class nova, in the system of Williams (1992), at maximum brightness.
