Аннотация:The theoretical and experimental foundations of the optical-radiation second harmonic generation (SHG) method are briefly reported. The optimum conditions for applying the SHG method both to an investigation of glasses and glass-ceramics at the early stages of the glass crystallization and to an analysis of the well-formed glass-ceramic structure are determined. The exceptionally high informative capabilities of the SHG method in studies of phase transformations of the ''glass-acentric phase'' type is demonstrated by the example of glass-forming systems containing the acentric phases [Li2SiO3, Li2GeO3, LiB3O5, Li2B4O7, PbTiO3, Pb5Ge3O11, LnBXO(5) (Ln = La, Ce, and Pr; X = Si and Ge), and others].
