Аннотация:The joint adsorption of potassium butylxanthogenate and butanol from KF solution was studied by recording the differential capacitance and electrocapillary curve. Two types of systems were investigated, in each of which the concentration of one substance was varied, while the other remained constant. The adsorption parameters of the double layer alpha , E//N, and GAMMA (max), as well as the dependence of log B on the electrical variable, were calculated. The results obtained are evidence that, as a result of the substantially greater adsorption capacity of butylxanthogenate in comparison with butanol, molecules of the latter cannot displace butylxanthogenate anions from the surface of mercury and are adsorbed both on a pure surface of mercury and on portions occupied by butylxanthogenate anions.
