Аннотация:A study is made of the adsorbability of organic cations at the mercury/n-propyl alcohol interface from solutions more dilute in the base electrolyte, and compared the experimental results with calculations based on a previously developed model. To this end, the adsorption behavior of TBA ions at the Hg/n-C//3H//7OH interface was studied in a base electrolyte of 0. 01 N LiClO//4 by measuring differential-capacity (C vs E) curves with the aid of an R-568 ac bridge. It is shown that when comparing the experimental curves with those calculated theoretically that they agree qualitatively; the calculated curves convey the effects of lower capacities at negative surface charge and of higher capacities at more positive surface charge. Moreover, in accord with experiment, the calculated curves exhibit a flat hump followed by a capacitance minimum. An analysis of the corresponding curves shows that diffuseness of the electric double layer is decisive for the development of the minimum in the C vs E curves in the region of E//q equals 0 at beta oc//i-values below 0. 01.
