Development of the efficient initiators of ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of cyclic esters (lactide, ε-caprolactone) is one of the important trends of modern chemistry. Usually metal containing molecules (coordination or organometallic compounds) used as initiators of this process. In this work we describe the synthesis of several aluminum and titanium complexes based on novel substituted N,N,O-ligands. The structure of the target compounds was investigated by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis. Aluminum complexes have high activity in ROP of L-lactide and ε-caprolactone (Mn = 42000 – 56000, PDI = 2.4 – 3.1). Furthermore, aluminum compounds of this type were used as catalysts for lactyllactate synthesis. This work is supported by the RFBR (12-03-00206-а). Book of abstracts, p.60 (oral presentation).
