  Similar to nine previous meetings on cell volume regulation, the CVR-2013 will gather leading international scientists in the fields of ion transport, cell volume regulation, and the pathophysiology of cell volume- and ion transport-related disorders. Presenters will cover a wide range of topics related to cell volume regulatory ion transport mechanisms, cell volume sensitive metabolic functions, intracellular signalling in cell volume regulation, factors challenging cell volume homeostasis, and contribution of cell volume regulatory mechanisms to cellular functions. New emphasis of this congress will be on recent developments in the field that link defects in cell volume homeostasis to numerous human disorders.
