One of goals of AMIE/SMART-1 mission was planned to investigate with low polar orbit the region of Moon`s South Pole, in particular the South Pole – Aitken formation. AMIE`s CCD has parameters which provide high spatial resolution on the surface (about 50 m/pixel). Previous analysis shown that SMART-1 ballistic allows to fulfil photometric investigations of the some selected regions, including the South Pole-Aitken area. On the other hand, it is known the northwest corner of the South Pole-Aitken basin contains two anomalies area of the high abundance of thorium (KREEP-rich units on the surface). Obviously, that investigation of regolith structure of the regions can be interested for study as of areas as of the basin in whole.
