Аннотация:The results of experimental study on the ignition of a stoichiometric methane–oxygen mixture by a high-current multi-electrode spark discharge in a closed cylindrical chamber are presented. Relatively high ionization degree (Ne ≈ 1012 cm–3 at P = 180 Torr) and a high electron-neutral collision frequency (νe0 ≈1012 s–1) are measured using microwave technique. The chemo-ionization processes in both the preflame and well-developed flame stages are discussed. At such high values of electron density and electron-neutral collision frequency, the medium efficiently absorbs microwave radiation in both the stage preceding explosive volume inflammation and in the stage of a well-developed flame.
