Аннотация:The article is dedicated to the analysis of the performance of the Russian-German Institute of Science and Culture for the period from 1993 to 2013. During that period of time the methods of teaching foreign languages had to face a number of problems, related to the process of the development of the new technologies, globalization of education and new education requirements. The discoveries by the cognitive science in the field of human brain studies required a new approach towards the format and methods of teaching foreign languages. Meanwhile, the new technologies offered more innovative ways to organize lessons and control the acquired knowledge and skills. The current article presents the means and methods the Russian-German Institute used to respond to those challenges.
