Аннотация:Heats of reaction in MSCN-benzo-12-crown-4-MeCN systems were detd. by calorimetric titrn. at 298.15 K. Complexes with cation:crown ratio 1:1 and 1:2 are formed. The stability of the 1:1 Ca2+ complex is more than an order of magnitude higher than the stabilities of the monovalent complexes. This ligand tends to fill the cation coordination sphere only partially. The thermodn. parameters of complexation are consistent with the concept of a relation between cation diam. and crown ether cavity size and stability.
