Аннотация:Seasonal dynamics of netphotosynthesis rate and dark respiration rate in the fir spruce (Picea abies) were investigated in order to indicate environmental exposure and to estimate photosynthesis in fir spruce stand. No intraseasonal depression of photosynthesis was found. A link was detected between maximum values of photosynthesis rate and air temperature: seasonal maximum of netphotosynthesis in fir spruce appeared in July at a temperature of approximately 20°C; reduction of CO2 assimilation was observed during temperature optimum decrease in August and September. Positive carbon dioxide balance indicates that oldgrowth spruce fir stand in forest ecosystems at the Log Tayezhnyi test area is a carbon reservoir.
