This monograph is devoted to the use of a dedicated linear accelerator CyberKnife for such stereotactic irradiation modes as hypofractionation and radiosurgery in the pathology of the central nervous system. This book is based on eight years- experience of the first in the post-Soviet space CyberKnife (more then 5 000 of medical treatments) which was placed in the department of radiotherapy and radiosurgery of the N. N. Burdenko National medical Research Center of Neurosurgery. The history of the creating, radiobiological bases of unconventional fractionation regimes, technical features, details of the planning, treatment and results of irradiation of patients with pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngioma, meningiomas, shvanomos, arteriovenous malformations, benign and malignant gliomas, metastases of various localization, tumors of the spine and spinal cord, trigeminal neuralgia and other diseases, are described. Publication may be useful for specialists-neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuroncologists, radiation therapists, neurologists, neuroooftalmologists, otoneurologists, as well as for general medical doctors . This book is of particular interest for medical physicists and engineers.
