Аннотация:Exosomes are 50-100 nm particles secreted by a range of normal cells into body fluids such as saliva, blood, and urine via exocytosis. Exosomes possess a cell-type-specific lipid-bilayer membrane containing cytosolic proteins. Exosomes are naturally adapted for the transport and intracellular delivery of proteins and nucleic acids [1]. Exosome-based drug delivery systems may provide unique advantages over other systems, including limited or no undesired immunogenicity when self-derived exosomes are used, greater stability in the blood due to evasion of complement and coagulation factors, efficient delivery of cargo into the cytosol of the target cell, and possibly fewer off-target effects due to the natural tendency of exosomes to act on specific target cells [2]. The purpose of our work is development of exosome delivery system for antioxidants, such as catalase, to produce neuroprotection in cases of neurodegenerative disorders, e.g. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
