- Аннотация: Proverbs, one of our spiritual cultural values, are word patterns that have been shaped as a result of many experiences and created to serve a specific purpose. Proverbs, a product of folk culture, are language elements that transmit the values of the nation they represent from generation to generation. These word patterns, which show the richness of expression and meaning of Turkish, are frequently used in the spoken language to express situations more effectively and more understandably.Examining proverbs conceptually, they can be investigated in the context of many elements. One of the elements found in proverbs is numbers. Numbers formed with a certain collocation combination have symbolic values and different meanings are attributed to each of them. The messages attributed to numbers have been the area of interest of researchers in many fields such as religion, literature, history, and psychology. In our study, proverbs that include the number ‘one’ and other numbers used together with the number ‘one’ were examined. The symbolic meanings of numbers in Turkish culture have been explained and an analysis of the meanings in which these numbers are used in proverbs has been aimed.
