Аннотация:The article is airmed at studying of cultural and linguistic connections between Australia and Great Britain in historical and modern aspects. There is much in common in the culture and the history of these countries:Australia was developing as a migratory colony of Great Britain, and as a result, Australia became an English-speaking country. Influence of English culture has been dominating for a long time, and the national identity of the Australians developed in juxtaposition of European and Colonial ways of living. Homesickness generated copying of British traditions and customs: borrowing the segments from architecture, manners of writing from literature and geographical names from topography. Those ideas were regarded as cultural cringe. Symbolic elements of Monarchy we can see on the present-day Australian flag and Coat of Arms. British Anthem "God Save the Queen" is still remembered in Australia and is sung with more feelings and adoration than Australian one "Advance, Australia Fair" by the middle-aged generation of Australia who were brought up in the period of worship of the Queen.
