奥登堡中国西北考察装备研究 [дэн бао чжун го си бей као чжа чжуан бей ян цзю] On the Equipment for Oldenburg’s Expedition in Northwest China Centered Around Newly Discovered materials from SPbBF ARASстатьяИсследовательская статья
Аннотация:In the collection of the St. Petersburg Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, there is a handwritten “equipment list” by Oldenburg in blue and black ink, which was listed by Oldenburg before the first Northwest China expedition (1909-1910). It has twelve units, including photography equipment, surveying equipment, copying supplies, excavation tools, daily tools, defense weapons, etc., and is the first to be published in China. The list restores the investigation details of the inspection team in ancient ruins and sites in Xinjiang, reflecting that collecting photo archives, copying murals, cleaning up scattered murals and literature fragments are the main work methods of the inspection team. The absence of professional tools such as glue and fox tail knives in the list confirms that peeling murals was not the original intention or main purpose of this trip, while the list of surveying tools and reference books exposed the geographical investigation nature of the inspection team. The completeness of the list reflects the thorough preparation and investigation conducted by the inspection team before departure, and the sufficient estimation and evaluation of the risks faced. This equipment list still has certain reference value for contemporary archaeological activities.
