Аннотация:The research aims to analyze the performance of the world’s 300 largest cooperatives over the past decade based on data provided by the International Cooperative Alliance. The authors examined the aspects of the largest companies in terms of turnover and the turnover/GDP per capita. The leading countries of the cooperative movement are highlighted. The strongest sectors in the global cooperative economy are shown. The research applies several scientific methods, including analysis, synthesis, grouping, comparison, and tabular and graphical methods. The authors identified the countries leading the cooperative economy: France, the USA, and Germany. It is noted that the cooperative economy is most developed in such sectors as insurance, agriculture and agricultural production, and trade. The authors show that the COVID-19 pandemic intensified the digitalization of the cooperative sector and did not have a significant negative impact on their revenue. The results of this research can be applied in further scientific developments on this or similar topics. The novelty of this research lies in processing the performance indicators of the world’s leading cooperative enterprises and analyzing the trends in the development of the world cooperative economy.
