Аннотация: The distributions of current and fluxoid density over the width of a thin film of a type-II superconductor are calculated under the assumption that fluxoids only enter a film when the current density at the edge reaches a certain value. The field dependence of the critical current predicted by this model is found to be much greater than observed experimentally. This shows that bulk rather than surface pinning dominates in real films.
