Аннотация:The more recent history and main experimental data for Krushinsky–Molodkina (KM) audiogenic rat strain are 18
presented. The strain selection started in late 1940. Nowthis strain is inbred, and two newstrains aremaintained 19
in a laboratory in parallel. These strains originated fromKM ×Wistar hybrids andwere bred (starting from2000) Q2013
for no-seizure and intense audiogenic seizure phenotypes, respectively. The experimental evidences of audiogen- 21
ic seizure physiology were accumulated in parallel (and usually ahead) with data on other audiogenic-prone 22
strains. The peculiar feature, whichwas investigated in the KMstrain, is their vulnerability to brain hemorrhages. 23
Thus, the KM strain is used not only as the genetic model of seizure states, but also as the model of brain blood 24
flow disturbances.
