Аннотация:The spinal motoneurons were stimulated ortho- and antidromically in rats with either intact inhibitory mechanisms or affected by tetanus toxin. Postsynaptic inhibition of spinal motoneurons was evoked by electrical stimulation of the gigantocellular nucleus of the brain stem reticular formation in cats. The protein content in the nuclei of the motoneurons and their cytoplasm was estimated interferometrically and shown to increase with excitatory and decrease with inhibitory synaptic effects. This suggests that both the synaptic excitation and the synaptic inhibition are metabolically active processes.
