- Аннотация: This chapter examines the build-up of industrial unrest in the decade before the revolution of 1905. It discusses the indirect and direct effects of the transportation revolution on strikes and the growing capacity of railroad workers to organize explosive strikes that spread across industries and regional borders. The revolutionary year 1905 has been extensively analysed, but this geographical and statistical analysis of the earlier period shows how one militant group came to play a leading role.
