Аннотация:We consider an initial-boundary value problem for a model equation describing waves in crystalline semiconductors taking into account strong spatial dispersion, linear dissipation, and sources of free charges. We prove the local-in-time solvability of this problem in the weak generalized sense. We obtain sufficient conditions for the blow-up of the solution, and also sufficient conditions for the global-in-time solvability. In addition, we obtain two-sided estimates for the blow-up time of the solution of the problem
