Аннотация:It is noted that knowledge of the height distribution of the geomagnetic field is necessary for determining the asymptotic entry angles of high-energy particles and for calculating intensity variations associated with changes in cutoff rigidities, which makes it possible to study the primary spectra of cosmic-ray variations. This height distribution is calculated on the basis of the assumption that the magnetic-field intensity is a scalar-potential gradient and by solving the Dirichlet exterior boundary-value problem with given boundary conditions at the earth's surface. A map with lines of equal magnetic-field intensity is constructed on the basis of the calculations.
