Аннотация:Three new layered phases of the ZrCuSiAs structure type were prepared using the ampule procedure: LaOCuTe (a = 4.1792(1) angstrom, c = 9.3317(3) angstrom), NdOCuS (a = 3.903(5) angstrom, c = 8.48(1) angstrom), and SmOCuS (a = 3.854(3) angstrom, c = 8.442(7) angstrom). The structure of the LaOCuTe phase was solved by the powder method assuming space group P4/nmm (R(int) = 0.0513). It is shown that MOCuS phases with M = Eu, Gd, or Yb and MOCuTe phases with M = Nd, Gd, Er, Yb, or Bi do not form. The stability of MOCuX phases is explained qualitatively in terms of geometric distortions of commensurate tetrahedral layers MO and CuX (X = S, Se, Te).
