Аннотация:An application of self-regulation methods for prevention of negative influence of job stressors on health and well-being of employees has a long tradition in Russian applied psychology. The modern development of research in this domain concerns an elaboration of complex health promotion programs that provide an efficient learning of self-regulation habits and lead to an enlargement of individual repertoires of coping strategies. As a part of stress management research there was elaborated the program of psychological relaxation at workplaces (Leonova, 1993; 1994). It includes a specified for different occupational groups combination of techniques of progressive neuromuscular relaxation, ideomotor training and sensory imagination, elements of autogenic training. An efficiency and practical usability of this program were evaluated in series of empirical studies in different occupational groups (medical doctors, operators of high automated systems, pilots and air-traffic controllers, blue-collar workers in microelectronics, managers).
The presentation will be focused on the comparative analysis of these studies in order to delineate the main effects of self-regulation training on different aspects of physical and mental health: somatic reactions, psychological functioning, actual well-being, manifestations of negative chronic states, patterns of behavioral and personality adaptation. The better ways for practical implementation and organizational design of such type of health promotion programmswill be also discussed. The short video-clips with fragments of multimedia version of the program will be used for a demonstration of modern facilities in organizing self-regulation sessions directly at computerized workplaces.
