Аннотация:Regional variations of renewable energy resources (RER) potential in India are described using the original method of classifying the territories in terms of their supply with RER resources by calculating the total specific normalized potential values. Present-day utilization of RER in India is analyzed, as well as the prospects of development in this sphere for the energy supply in particular states. Wind power plants produce considerable share of energy (about 14% of energy supply) in the Tamilnad state and there are good prospects for construction of small hydroelectric stations in the mountainous regions in the north of the country.
