- Аннотация: This paper presents results of the complex geochemical study of organic matter (OM) from near-surface sediments of the north-eastern and northern sectors of the Barents Sea shelf sampled during the TTR-19 and TTR-20 research expeditions. A total of 658 samples from 108 stations were studied. Most of samples showed recent immature characteristics of OM according to GC-MS studies. However, a number of extracts have an atypical distribution of hydrocarbon (HC) biomarkers. For example, Ts/(Ts+Tm) = 0.4-0.61, 22S/(22S+22R)C31 = 0.38-0.43, bb/(aa+bb)C29 = 0.4-0.59, aa20S/(S+R)C29 = 0.26-0.39. Such excessive values allow concluding a presence of thermally transformed HC compounds mixed with syn-sedimentary OM of bottom sediments. The migration of mature HCs from deep sedimentary strata is presumably controlled by faults developed in the study area. OM concentration in the hosting bottom sediments is presumably controlled by holding capacity of the latter.
