Аннотация:Hydrogen-absorbing materials based on magnesium or titanium are promising as a working substancefor high-temperature hydrogen metal hydride accumulators due to the content of a large amount ofreversibly stored hydrogen. In order to soften the conditions of magnesium hydrogenation as the main obstacleto its practical use, the possibility a mechanical mixture of coarse-grained magnesium powders with 10–50 wt % titanium to react with hydrogen at different temperatures (300–390°C) without preliminary highenergyactivation of the mixture has been studied. It has been found that the addition of 20 wt % titanium witha particle size of 200 μm to magnesium contributes to the process of magnesium hydrogenation with highpurityhydrogen in 5 h at 380–390°C by 94–95%. It has been experimentally shown that this mixture is promisingas a hydrogen sorbent in high-temperature reusable metal hydride hydrogen accumulators operating attemperatures of 450–650°C and releasing up to 6.5 wt % high purity hydrogen (99.999 wt %).
