samples from 18 kimberlitic bodies of Russia and China were investigated: pipes Chidviya and Lomonosov pipe (Arkhangelsk province), pipes Mir, 23 s’ezd KPSS, Udachnaya, Botuobinskaya, Nurbinskaya, Snegopadnaya, Zagadochnaya, Morkoka, Chernyshevskaya, Aikhal and Dalnyaya (Yakutian province), pipes Victory-1, Red flag-6, Red flag-28, pipe 42 and pipe 50 (China). The mineral composition of kimberlites was studied by X-ray difraction method and the thermal analysis (fig. 1) in a combination to ИК-spectroscopy and Ca-measurements. The chemical composition of minerals is investigated by a electron-beam method, measurements of microhardness for separate samples of serpentine also were carried out.
Proceeding from the received data, all investigated кимберлиты were divided into four mineral-technological types.
1 - with prevalence of saponite (Chidviya and Lomonosov);
2 - with the high contents of serpentine (Snegopadnaya, Aikhal, Dalnyaya, Udachnaya);
3 - with the increased contents of a carbonate and flogopite (Chernyshevskaya and Botuobinskaya);
4 - with the complex mixed structure (Morkoka, 23 s’ezd KPSS, Nurbinskaya, Mir and pipes of China).
