Аннотация:The ’Surface’ and ’bulk’ regimes of femtosecond laser ablation of low-density graphite foils of varied crystal lattice defectiveness and high-oriented pyrolytic graphite were studied by stationary and time-resolved optical microscopy. At low laser fluences, a ’surface’ ablation of graphite foils occurs due to laser energy deposition which is additional stimulated by contribution of nonequilibrium point defects, whereas at high laser fluence a ’bulk’ ablation of the foils results from the material heating and softening during propagation of shock wave initiated by explosive ’surface’ ablation.
