Аннотация:The DNA hybridization method was used to study the intraspecific divergence of unique DNA sequences of Mytilus edulis, Mytilus galloprovincialis and Mytilus trossulus. A matrix of delta Tm fotr the interpopulation heteroduplexes of DNA sequences was obtained. At mild hybridization conditions (0.5M PB, 55oC), values for delta Tm showed considerable variation (0.5 to 8.6oC) wich much exceeded the intraspecific polymorphism of unique DNA sequences, tesiffying to the taxonomic nonhomogeneity of M. edulis. A Phylogenetic tree of M. edulis populations was constructed from the delta Tm matrix using Fitch computer program for unequal rates of divergence between sister branches. Three major branches of the phylogenetic tree were distinguished wich comprise 5 edulis-like species. The results of interspecific hybridization of the unique DNA sequences in three mussel species showed that M. edulis and M. galloprovincialis diverged much later than their ancestor from M. trossulus (and M. edulis from the Barents Sea).
