Аннотация:A spherical center of expansion with nonstationary oscillations of its intensity is located in a homogeneous elastic half-space covered with a layer of a gravitating incompressible fluid radiates longitudinal waves. In the linear approximation, there are studied waves at the free surface of the fluid and at the elastic medium-fluid interface. It is established that, at source depths of a few tens of kilometers, significant tsunami waves are only generated by low-frequency oscillations of the source, at periods in the range 5-40 min. Specifically, at a source depth of 40 km, the maximum height of the fluid surface relative to the bottom is caused by oscillations with a period of 15 min. It is also shown that the wave fields from concentrated and vertically distributed sources differ insignificantly.
