Аннотация:The reaction of photocatalytic oxidation of water with potassium persulfate in the presence of the photosensitizer bpy3RuCl2·6H2O and the ruthenium nitride complex Li3[Ru2(µ-N)Cl8·2H2O] has been studied. It has been found by kinetic and electrospray-ionization mass spectrometry methods that the catalyst for the process is the tetraruthenium complex \({\text{R}}{{{\text{u}}}_{{\text{4}}}}{{{\text{N}}}_{{\text{2}}}}{\text{O}}_{5}^{ + }\) with a molecular weight of 512.28 amu. The efficiency of the catalytic system (a turnover number of TON = 360, a О2 quantum yield of Ф = 0.51) is higher than that of its oxygen analogue Li4[Ru2OCl10∙2H2O] (TON = 240 and Ф = 0.2).
