Аннотация:The study is devoted to the digital shift in management, forced by the precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding of remote management, its challenges and opportunities faced in remote working by digital natives, young undergraduate students. The bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer revealed five research avenues on remote management in 2018–2021, that are digital transformation, technologies and supply chain; consumer behaviour, ICT and small business; business innovations and COVID-19 challenges; Industry 4.0 and manufacturing; sustainability. The paper includes an exploratory study of the opinion of undergraduate students regarding modern management practices. Based on the results of the qualitative research, the authors identify key benefits and challenges of remote management for the employees, employers and organisations. The respondents consider that remote work format is a driver of positive and negative organisational change that impact different organisational aspects – decision making, communication, conflict, organisational culture, leadership and motivation. The paper discusses the results and raises new questions that further research needs to answer.
