Аннотация:The solubility and stability of ozone in acetonitrile (CH3CN) in the temperature range 233–295 K was studied, and optimum conditions were found in order to use this liquid as an ozonation medium. The molar absorption coefficients of ozone in CH3CN are ε259 = 2900 ± 150 mol-1 L cm−1 (Hartley region) and ε588 = 5.1 ± 0.1 mol-1 L cm−1 (Chappuis region). The rate constant of the O3 decomposition at 295 K is 3.3 × 10–5 s−1. The O3 decomposition rate increases with the increasing amount of water in CH3CN. The O3 solubility coefficients and its limiting solubility at 233–295 K were calculated. The heat of O3 dissolution in acetonitrile is 10.2 ± 0.2 kJ mol−1.
