Аннотация:Irina Viktorovna Dryagina (1921-2017) – commissar of the escadrille of the 46th Guards Taman of the Red Banner Order and Suvorov Order Regiment of night Bombers, captain of the Guard and a well-known biologist, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, professor, breeder, honored worker of the All-Russian Research Institute of Selection and Seed Production of Vegetable Crops (VNIISSOK). For participation in the Patriotic War in combat operations on the Po-2 aircraft and as a political worker I. V. Dryagina was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Battle, the Order of the Patriotic War of the first degree, medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus", "For the Liberation of Prague", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany". I. V. Dryagina's research interests included the study of the genetics of fruit crops and the selection and seed production of flower crops, as well as research in the field of inducing mutations in fruit and flower-ornamental plants using ionizing radiation. The practical result of her breeding research was the creation of 46 varieties of garden iris (Iris hybrida hort.) on the basis of the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Biology of thе Lomonosov Moscow State University, as well as of 25 varieties of other ornamental flowering crops.
