Аннотация:The kinetics of iron sulfide crystallization from X-ray amorphous water bearing
precipitates (hydrotroilite) was investigated by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. Synthesis
was carried out in the temperature range 20oC<T<200oC. The investigated samples were
exposed to aging from several days to several years. It was shown that the reaction
proceeded in different ways depending on redox conditions. Hydrotroilite was
converted to pyrite in the presence of elemental sulfur. In more reducing conditions
without elemental sulfur, however, a sequence of metastable sulfide phases including
hydrotroilite, mackinawite, greigite, pyrite and marcasite were formed. In aqueous
solutions unsaturated by sulfide sulfur a precursor phase - tochilinite was synthesized.
In this study Mossbauer investigation of mackinawite and tochilinite as intermediate
phases in the process of hydrotroilite aging are carried out.
