Аннотация:The article presents reflections on the book by the Norwegian political scientist Ola Innset “Reinventing Liberalism: The Politics, Philosophy and Economics of Early Neoliberalism (1920-1947)” (2020). It presents an attempt of a contextual historical understanding of the formation of neoliberal ideas, their origins and evolution – from the first debates related to socialist “meditative forecasts” in “Red Vienna” to the constituent assembly of the Mon Pelerin Society in 1947. The article critically examines the key ideas of the book related to Innetset's assessments of neoliberal concepts of totalitarianism, liberal economic theoriesand interpretations of the state. The author actively uses the latest foreign studies devotedto the analysis of the history of liberalism, its political theory and political economy.
