Аннотация:Quantum cryptography systems are open systems; therefore, they can be subjected to active sensing,
and the components of the receiving and transmitting equipment can be driven to abnormal operation,
which, as experimentally demonstrated, may discredit the security of the system. The development of systems
that guarantee the detection of such attacks and the secrecy of the transmitted keys at the level of physical
principles, rather than at the level of individual technical solutions, is a topical problem. The paper proposes
a simple and physically intuitive principle of protection against an active sensing attack—a detector mismatch
attack—which requires only minimal changes in the existing systems that use the quantum distribution protocol
BB84.
