Studies on signaling pathways and modeling of the regulatory cell networks are crucial to understand the functionality of the cell and the entire organism. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as O2- and H2O2, play a key role in plant metabolism, cellular signaling and defense. The oxygen photoreduction via the Mehler reaction in chloroplast is considered to be a focal point of redox signaling in leaf cells. To assemble the entire cell redox signaling network, we should use all benefits of classical biochemical approaches with cooperation of the modern molecular biological and bioinformatics technologies.
