- Аннотация: The article reveals the economic essence of the digital transforma- tions taking place in the modern world which make signi fi cant changes in the system of social reproduction and the business activities. The dichotomy of the role of businesses in the process of digital transfor- mation is described. On the one hand, business is a subject of ongoing changes, it responds to them and adapts to them. On the other hand, business acts as a driver of digital transformations and generates changes themselves, as it is in a continuous search for new technologies to improve its own stability and competitiveness. It is determined that digital transformations do not only open new opportu- nities for businesses, but also create a number of threats to its economic security. Menaces to economic security of businesses (information technology, threats from personnel, threats from the management system) in the context of the importance of factors and resources in the modern world are classi fi ed. The economic damage caused by the penetrating threats is analyzed. Most of the described threats to economic security of businesses can turn into opportunities and strategic advantages of growth. To do this, it is advisable to provide digital transformation of businesses in the system «technology-people- strategy». The strategy of businesses' digital transformation, the determinant of which is the «economic security of businesses», and the key areas involving leveling information technology threats to economic security, human capital develop- ment, corporate information management are suggested. The implementation of this strategy will transform threats to the economic security of businesses into new opportunities for their development.
