Аннотация:Propagation of a short pulse excitation in a thin elastic plate loaded with air is studied. This
pulse contains elastic waves having phase velocities that are close to the sound speed in the air.
Due to the phase synchronism phenomenon such waves eectively radiate into the air. Such a
radiation has a very narrowband spectrum localized near the phase synchronism frequency.
We present a theoretical description of the phenomenon. The problem is studied using the
method of analytical continuation of dispersion diagram. Namely, the field is represented as a
double Fourier integral on frequency and wavenumber variables. The variables are continued
into complex plane. Then, the surface of integration is studied in two-dimensional complex
space. A contribution to the field corresponding to the phase synchronism is extracted and
represented in terms of special functions.
