Аннотация:Regulatory proteins, biologically active in ultra low doses, have been isolated from rat liver. lungs, kidneys, and thin intestines, as well as from bovine bile. The biological activity of the isolated proteins was evaluated by their ability to modify cell plasma membrane mechanical stability in a tissue culture-based test system. Acidic forms of the regulatory proteins were purified by a technique developed earlier and analyzed by methods of electrophoresis and turned-phase HPLC. Using dynamic light scattering and atomic force microscope (AFM), the dimensions of the protein particles in water solution were determined. We found that regulatory proteins under investigation form 40-60-nanometer particles. We suggest that the ability of the regulatory proteins to form nano-sized particles may account for their biological activity in ultra low doses.
