Аннотация:A ternary ethylene-propylene-diene elastomer of grade Dutral TER 4044 was ground into powder using the high-temperature shear strain method, which is based on the effect of multiple cracking of the solid and its breakdown into individual particles under conditions of intense compression and simultaneous shear deformation, carried out at high temperature. Chain rupture was shown to lead to the formation of macroradicals which, in the absence of radical acceptors, were capable of interacting to form macromolecules. The grinding of the vulcanisates thus led to the formation of particles of rubber powder with an increased crosslink density in comparison with the crosslink density of vulcanisates. Thus, by varying the crosslink density of vulcanisates based on EPDM, it was possible to influence the structure of the rubber powder.
