Аннотация:Cestodes of the Progrillotia Dollfus, 1946 were found in stingray Raja clavata L. from
the Black Sea off Crimea for the first time, and they belong to a new species. Its
plerocercoids, without blastocyst, were found in the gallbladder of Mesogobius
bathrachocephalus (Pallas). Progrillotia palmi n. sp. has all characters of the genus but
differs from P. pastinacae Dollfus, 1946 and P. dasyatidis Beveridge, Neifar & Euzet,
2004 in the worm size, the number of segments in strobila, the bulb proportions and
the distance from the segment anterior end to the genital pore. Moreover P. palmi n.
sp. differs from P. dasyatidis in the size of the mature segments and eggs. P. palmi n.
sp. can be distinguished from P. louiseuzeti Dollfus, 1969 by the number of the testes;
by the Pbo : Pv : Pb proportion of the scolex and the proportion of the bulb. Additionally
P. palmi n. sp. differs from P. pastinacae and P. louiseuzeti in the size of the hooks in
the principal rows and with the number of the intercalated rows of the hooks on the
external surface of the tentacles as well as the hook number in these rows.
Ultrastructure of P. palmi n. sp. larvae is described. The current status of the
trypanorhynchan fauna of elasmobranchs in the Black Sea off Crimea is reviewed. The
erroneous definition of strictly host-specific cestodes, namely Grillotia (Christianella)
minuta (van Beneden, 1849) Beveridge & Cambpell, 2010 and Tentacularia sp. l. from
the Black Sea fish are approved based on the lacking of definitive hosts of
abovementioned helminthes in this sea. The necessity of reinvestigation of the
morphology of the trypanorhynhs from the Black Sea fishes, which were previously
identified as Eutetrarhynchus spinifer Dollfus, 1969, Prochristianella trigonicola Dollfus,
1957, Progrillotia louiseuzeti Dollfus, 1969 from Dasyatis pastinaca (L.) and Grillotia
erinaceus (van Beneden, 1858) from Raja clavata, and comparison with typical
characteristics of Dollfusiella spinifer (Dollfus, 1969) Campbell & Beveridge, 1994,
Prochristianella papillifer (Poyarkoff, 1909) Dollfus, 1957, Progrillotia louiseuzeti and
Grillotia erinaceus for clarification of their species identification are supposed. Five
cestodes, namely Nybelinia lingualis (Cuivier, 1817) l., Hepatoxylon trichiuri (Holten,
1802) l., Parachristianella trygonis Dollus, 1946 l., Gilguinia squali (Fabricius, 1794)
and Kotorella pronosoma (Stossich, 1901), which were previously noted from fish in
the Black Sea, were not found during our investigation.
