Аннотация:Methods for experimental determination of the strain-rate sensitivity of superplastic materials, based on the hypothesis that the strain-rate sensitivity parameter m is independent of the strain rate xi (under isothermal uniaxial loading conditions) are revised. It is shown that the parameter m cannot be determined uniquely from the slope of a sigmoidal superplasticity (SP) curve. For a description of the properties of a polycrystalline material in the SP state, the maximum value m(0) of the parameter m, corresponding to the inflection point (xi(0), sigma(0)) of the sigmoidal SP curve, is proposed. A mathematical description of the unique SP curve in coordinates of log [sigma/sigma(0)] - log [xi/xi(0)] is proposed. A method for experimental determination of the material parameters sigma(0), xi(0) and m(0) is developed and tested for use.
