Аннотация:This paper addresses the issue of licensing negative polarity items in Russian nominalizations. Negation in nominalizations provides negative concord which licenses negative pronouns. Crucially, non-specific indefinite -nibud pronouns, which are usually prohibited in negative concord environments, are available in negated nominalizations, too. In this paper I determine the position of NegP within Russian nominalizations and examine licensing conditions of polarity sensitive items in nominalizations. My analysis suggests that -nibud pronouns are licensed in the scope of the nonveridical operator that is introduced above NegP.
