Аннотация:Two sequences, Hmob3 and Hmob33 (1420 and 1567 bp, respectively) actively transcribed in different brain compartments were obtained from a cDNA library of human medulla oblongata using differential screening. According to the results of Northern hybridization of these clones with mRNA from other human tissues, these transcripts are absent from kidney, uterine wall, and skeletal muscle. Comparison of the sequences with those deposited in GenBank and HCD databases revealed a number of highly homologous short expressed sequence tags. Their anonymity as well as the absence of substantial homology of Hmob3 and Hmob33 with known genes indicate that they correspond to new genes. Using DNA panels of hybrid somatic cells and irt situ hybridization, Hmob3 and Hmob33 were located on human chromosomes 5 and 10, respectively.
