Аннотация:Our investigations provide ample evidence on the effect of fulvic acids (FA) and fulvic acids (HA) of different origin on liquid-liquid and solid phase extraction (LLE and SPE, respectively) of various hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs) having broadly varying values of octanol-water partition corfficient Kow including alkanes C15-C30, cycloalkanes, isoprenoid hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), alkylsabstituted PAH and alkylbenzenes with 5 to 18 carbon atoms in the alkyl chane, phtalate esters with 1 to 10 carbon atoms ineach ester group? polychlorobiphenyl (PCB) mixtures such as Arochlor 1221, Arochlor 1248, and Arochlor 1254. It was shown that the solubilization by dissolved HAs and FAs can lead to a significant decrease of recovery of some HOCs even from very diluted (10-20 ug/L) aqueous solutions of these acids. The mechanism of the solubilization of HOCs is suggested and discussed.
